Customer Review #1 "We
received this coffee grinder as a gift about 5
years ago, and it's still going strong. It's
fairly loud but quite fast: in only a few
seconds, you can have aromatic, finely ground
coffee, and nary a bean in the mix! It's true
that the capacity is small, but I've never
found this to be a problem, especially since
the best coffee requires freshly ground beans.
And although the unit is not dishwasher safe,
I've never had a problem with cleanup either,
as I just rinse out the plastic cup and use a
damp paper towel to wipe out the interior. This
inexpensive, easy-to-use tool is a perfect
addition to your kitchen!"

Customer Review #2 "When I received a
bag of coffee beans in a gift package, I
decided to do what every coffee lover
eventually does, get a grinder, and enjoy the
marvelous aroma of newly ground beans, and the
freshest of coffee in my cup.
I've always had good luck with Braun
appliances, so chose this sleek and easy little
grinder, which is simple to operate and clean;
it only has one lever, with the fineness of the
grind determined by how long you press it down,
and the progress is visible through the clear
top. For an extra fine grind, use less beans
for best results...there is a warning to not
"overheat the motor", which would probably be
the result of grinding too many beans at one
time for too long.
Cleaning is a snap: The top rinses out, and a
swipe with a paper towel cleans out the
grinding cup, which is part of the motorized
section, and the bottom has a handy spool for
use as a cord wrap.
Now my little kitchen area is permeated with
the smell of fresh coffee, my lattes taste
better than ever, and I have the new adventure
of trying out different types of beans, and
delight in the wondrous world of gourmet coffee

Customer Review #3 "I've been
using it for fine drip, coarse press and
extra-fine Aeropress, but it always leaves a
combination of dust and extra-coarse granules
regardless of how I shake it or how long I run
it. After grinding and dumping there is
residual buildup that needs to be scraped and
brushed off to prevent staleness in the next
cup. To prepare a bag of grounds for taking to
work or camping requires grinding a few small
batches.
Still, this is MUCH better than pre-ground
coffee. I would prefer a no-brush grinder with
consistent grounds size, but even the expensive
conical burr grinders have issues!
For those of us that love good coffee, the
loudness isn't as much of a concern weighed
against the quality of brew, but there are
those that might find that the grinder sound
wakes them up."

Customer Review #4 "My husband drinks coffee every
morning and we have been using beans and grinding them for over
12 years. The last grinder we had lasted just over five years
at which time it quickly died. Since the last one was a Braun
and we had been happy with it, we bought the same brand again.
This time we got the Braun Coffee Grinder KSM It comes with a
one year warranty.
USING THE GRINDER
To use the Braun Coffee Grinder KSM everyday we are home. It is
very easy to use as I simply take off the lid, add the coffee,
put the lid back on and turn it on. After the coffee is ground,
I pour the coffee out of the grinder and into the coffee pot.
The whole thing takes about 10 seconds!
One nice thing is that the lid has an safety
switch. This only allows the grinder to work
if the lid is securely locked first. A great little safety
feature, an a important one as the stainless steel blades are
SHARP!
Cleaning the lid is easy as it can be rinsed in the sink or ran
through the dishwasher. The unit however is not submersible so
it has to be cleaned out with a damp paper towel. Now this can
be somewhat tricky because as I mentioned, the blades are SHARP
and you need to clean them as well. Since we only use it for
coffee, it is not critical that it be spotless, but I do still
clean it after each use.
WHY BUY THIS MACHINE?
I suspect most grinders are similar so why do I like this one?
Let me count the ways --
1. The transparent lid. I like the fact you can view the coffee
as it is grinding. This is helpful if you want to control how
fine the grind is.
2. The power cord. The cord is connected to the grinder which
wraps around the bottom for storage. Neat and tidy.
3. The motor. With a 150-watt motor, the Braun Coffee Grinder
KSM works fast and first thin in the morning, this is a GOOD
thing.
4. The color. Most of the grinders I looked at only came in
white but this one comes in black which works a lot better in
my kitchen. It also comes in white, vanilla and chameleon.
5. The blades. The blades are stainless steel and very sharp.
After a year, they have not stained or dulled in any way.
6. The size. While the unit itself is not large,(7.5 inches
high) it does have a 60g capacity. this means it can grind
enough coffee in one shot for 12 cups of coffee. most of the
time, I grind only enough for two cups but when we have guest,
I make a larger pot and it is nice to be able to do it all at
one time and in less than 20 seconds!
7. The safety lock. Any safety feature is a
good thing but I like this one for a couple of reasons. This
one is on the lid and it makes it impossible to start the
grinder if the lid is not tightly locked. Not only does it
protect fingers from getting cut, it makes sure that coffee
doesn't fly all over my counter because of an unsecured
lid.
With all those good things are there any bad? I'd have to say
the only complaint I have is the level of noise it makes when
grinding. But since it only takes about 10 seconds per day, I
really think it is something I can live with!
~~ ** ~~ ** ~~ 2BUZY'S FINAL THOUGHTS ~~ ** ~~ ** ~~
We have had our Braun Coffee Grinder KSM for about a year and
it is still working great. I am sure that it has a much longer
life ahead and hopefully it will continue to be trouble
free.
As mentioned, there are a lot of reasons I like this grinder --
it is easy to use, works fast, not hard to clean up and comes
in black to name a few. But probably the best is that this is
an appliance that we don't need but want and it helps makes the
coffee taste fresher than if it was preground. And it does it
quickly and evenly.
Since I have no major complaints, I am giving it 5 stars."
